Day 136-8 - Back To Phangan, and on to Tao

Day 136 (Thursday 28th) - Back To Koh Phangan

We returned our bikes and got a Taxi to the wrong pier, despite my (I thought) clear instructions ("Mai Catamaran, mai Lomprayah") then we were taken to the right one, just in time to catch the slightly crappy boat to Koh Phangan. On arrival we headed straight to Leela beach and got a triple room right on the beach, after which we hung out and went to have dinner in town, then waited around for hours for anything to happen (this place doesn't get busy until 11ish - we went for dinner at 7. Whoops). We went for a massage, during which Will was repeatedly called sexy by my masseuse, and they all stopped mid way to read my tattoo. I was toe-groped (is that is possible) by mine - she was pushing against my thigh with her foot while pulling on my leg, and intentionally put her foot a bit higher than is strictly appropriate, while giggling and apologising insincerely. After Ivan and Sandy's experience (the massage girls were chatting in Thai about various things, including the status of Ivan and Sandy's relationship, whether they were sleeping together etc., and how well-endowed Ivan might be, complete with hand gestures, not realising that Sandy spoke Thai and understood every word) I can only imagine what they were discussing. The giggling did make the massage more fun though, I think.

Later on we watched various fire-shows and games on the beach, the prize for the winning of which was generally a bucket, until 2ish when we went back to our bungalow, promising that we'd have a full and productive day tomorrow.

Day 137 (Friday 29th) - Not so busy

So that plan failed. I dozed in the hammock while the others went and got Jetskis again - this time, due to the glassily smooth sea, they got them up to 80 km/h, meaning they could have almost got to Samui and back in their allotted half hour. We really did nothing today, just appreciated Leela beach for what it is - we lay in the foot-deep, crystal clear warm water and chatted, watched sunset from our balcony, ate in the restaurant of Coco-Hut, the fancy resort on the beach, while watching some films - namely the end of Stormbreaker, Jersey Girl and the beginning of Stealth, none of which I would recommend in the slightest. We went over to Haad Rin for 11ish, and watched firehoop jumping and fireskipping (only one person screwed it up, getting taken out by the flaming rope, but she seemed fine afterwards)

Day 138 (Saturday 1st) - Back to Tao

Most of today was taken up with travelling - we left Leela at 11 and arrived at on Koh Tao around half three, signed up for two more adventure dives tomorrow and found an OK place to stay - after four nights in a triple room, we have now gone the opposite way and have a bungalow each, for some reason. I showed the chaps the wonders of Tao - this involved walking up and down Sairee beach, then settling into some beanbags and watching paper lanterns being sent up into the sky. Tomorrow we have a preposterously early start, as our boat leaves at 7:20 for our deep and navigation dives.
